WatchCertainTeed Belmont IR Weathered Wood in Flower Mound, TXLet's be honest. Most people don't go to a roofing company's website to read a wall of text. They go to watch. They want to see the work, see the people and see if the company is who it says it is. So we film our roofs. Drone flyovers, install-day footage, finished homes and the occasional behind-the-scenes moment when somebody forgets the camera is on.
Here's why we do it, and how you can use those videos to plan your own roof.
Why Does Video Beat Photos?
Photos can be staged. Angles can hide things. A slow drone flyover of a finished roof shows the lines, the ridge, the flashing, the valleys and the cleanup. You can see how the shingles lay. You can see whether the ridge caps are straight. You can see whether the gutters were handled or left dented.
Matthew walks finished roofs on camera and points out the details: the high-profile, impact-resistant ridge, the valley metal, the new vents and flashings, the ice and water on lower slopes and the gutter guards reinstalled. When we're proud of the work, we want you to see it up close.
How Does Filming Keep Us Honest?
When your work is on camera, there's nowhere to hide. Every crooked line and every missed detail would be right there for the whole internet. That's the way we like it. It pushes the whole team to build every roof like somebody's going to watch it in slow motion, because somebody is.
Can Video Help Me Pick a Shingle Color?
Absolutely, and this is our favorite use. Seeing Weathered Wood on light brick or Black/Moire on dark brick in real Texas sunlight beats a 2-inch sample every time. Our Completed Roofing Project Portfolio includes CertainTeed Landmark and Belmont IR in a bunch of colors on homes across North Texas.
Tips for color shopping with video:
- Pause on the drone shots to see the whole roof against the brick.
- Watch for shots at different times of day.
- Pay attention to trim color. White trim and dark trim change everything.
- Make a short list, then ask us for samples to hold up to your own house.
Read CertainTeed Landmark vs. Belmont IR for help choosing between the two lines.
What Else Is on the G3 Knows Channel?
More than roofs. We film:
- Storm damage before restoration, so you can see what crews walk into
- The Roof Denied series, where Matthew walks through real North Texas roofs and the documentation behind them
- Water and fire restoration education
- Remodels, like the Mosswood journey
- Christmas lighting, because yes, we do that too
We're a lot more than a roofing company, and the videos show it. Grab some popcorn. Matthew says to, and he means it.
Do You Get to Know the Team Too?
That's the other reason. We want you to know who's coming to your home before we pull into the driveway. Our videos show the team, how we talk and how we work. If you like what you see, great. If you don't, you've saved us both some time.
Will You Film My Roof?
Often, yes, if you're comfortable with it. We never share private details, house numbers or anything identifying without permission. Plenty of homeowners love having a drone video of their new roof. It makes a great before-and-after to send the family.
