Every year, it's the same story. October feels too early to think about Christmas lights. Then Thanksgiving shows up, the turkey's in the oven, the neighbors' houses start glowing and suddenly everybody wants lights at once. Don't be the last one on the block in the dark.

Here's when to book, and how to make the whole thing easy.

When Should I Book Christmas Light Installation?

Early. October is the sweet spot. You're thinking about Halloween costumes, but your future self will thank you. Booking early gives you:

1. More install date options. Earlier in the season, there's more room on the schedule.
2. Time to plan your design. No rushing your roofline, trees and walkways.
3. Lights up before Thanksgiving guests arrive, if that's what you want. (Whether you turn them on before Thanksgiving is between you and your family.)

Can I Still Book in November or December?

Yes, ask us. Availability gets tighter as the season goes on, so the earlier you reach out, the better your chances of getting the date you want. Think of it like Santa's sleigh: there are only so many seats.

How Does Scheduling Work?

Here's how it works:

1. Start your estimate online. Tell us about you, pick your areas (rooflines, trees, beds or walkways) and draw your design right on a photo of your home.
2. We confirm with you. Before install day, we confirm the design and your date.
3. Get your bin ready. If we're reusing lights from a past season, put the storage bin on the porch the day before.
4. Install day. Our crew handles the heights. You handle the hot cocoa.

What Should I Do Before Install Day?

A short pre-flight checklist for the North Pole's finest:

• Bin on the porch the day before, if you have one.
• Gate codes and pets. Let us know about gates, dogs, or the cat who thinks ladders are a personal challenge.
• Outlet check. Tell us where your outdoor outlets are and whether any trip.
• HOA rules. Check your HOA's install dates and guidelines. Our HOA holiday lighting rules guide has a checklist.
• Design changes. Want to change something? Talk to us before install.

When Do the Lights Come Down?

After the season. Our crew takes everything down carefully and packs it into a storage bin that stays at your home. If your HOA has a takedown deadline, let us know so we can plan.

Because there's only one Christmas, and every install happens in the same few weeks. Our crew is our own, and we don't cut corners to squeeze in more houses. Custom fitting lights to every peak takes care. The difference is in the details, and details take time.

Is There Anything Else I Should Know Before Booking?

Yes, one more thing: know what look you want, or at least have a rough idea. Warm white? Candy cane? Red, white and green? If the family can't agree, that's fine.
