WatchPost Fire Damage Flyover ProjectWhen a home catches fire, a family is displaced. When a church or a business catches fire, a whole community feels it. Services get moved, employees can't work, customers go somewhere else, and the people who run the place are suddenly managing a construction project on top of everything else.
G3 supports residential and commercial restoration projects, including churches, businesses and homes. Here's how we approach the commercial side and why it's different.
What Makes Commercial Fire Restoration Different?
The basics are the same: make it safe, stop the damage from spreading, document it, rebuild it. What changes is the scale and the pressure.
- More people are affected. Staff, members, tenants and customers all need answers.
- Downtime costs more. Every day closed is a day of lost services or lost revenue.
- Buildings are bigger and more complex. Larger roof systems, commercial HVAC, fire suppression systems, multiple suites or wings.
- More decision makers. Owners, boards, property managers and committees all need to be kept in the loop.
We plan for all of that from the first walkthrough.
What Happens in the First Few Days?
Speed matters most early on. CMDR Restoration (TDLR RCO #1801), our mitigation partner, focuses on stabilizing the building:
- Board-up and securing openings so the property is protected
- Tarping any open roof areas
- Removing water left behind from firefighting
- Starting soot and odor cleanup so damage doesn't spread into unaffected areas
Smoke doesn't respect walls. In a strip center or a church with connected buildings, soot can travel through shared attics and ductwork into spaces the fire never touched. Getting ahead of that early limits how much of the building has to be closed.
How Do You Document a Commercial Loss?
G3 Construction inspects and documents the structure room by room, with photos and measurements, and writes the repair scope in Xactimate. On a commercial building, that scope often covers roofing, framing, drywall, ceilings, flooring, doors, finishes and more, organized so owners and boards can see exactly what's being done and where.

Can You Work Around Our Schedule?
Where it's possible, yes. We talk through what you need to keep running. A church may need a fellowship hall or sanctuary back before the rest of the campus. A business may need a front office or a storefront open while the back is rebuilt. We plan phases around those priorities when the building and safety allow it, and we tell you plainly when they don't.
Why Does One Point of Contact Matter?
The thing I hear most from commercial clients is that they don't want to manage five different companies. They want one number to call. With G3 Knows, CMDR handles mitigation and G3 Construction handles the rebuild from the same file. You get one point of contact from the first call to the final walkthrough, and regular updates along the way.
Be Grateful. Be Generous. Be Good. Those aren't just words on our trucks. When a church or a local business is hurting, we take that seriously, because they're our neighbors too.
What Should Owners and Leaders Do Right Now?
- Make sure everyone is out and accounted for and the fire department has cleared the building
- Keep people out of damaged areas
- Take lots of video of the exterior and any areas you can safely see
- Gather your property and insurance documents
- Decide who on your team will be the main point of contact
- Call your carrier, then call us at (945) 300-9018
