Holiday lights, done right. You never touch a ladder.

That's the whole idea behind G3 Holiday Lighting. Most of y'all know us as roofers and restoration folks, and that's exactly why we got into lights. We spend our days on North Texas roofs. We know how to move around on them, we know what they look like up close, and we know what a nail through a shingle does six months later. So when neighbors started asking us to hang their Christmas lights, it made sense. Who better to be up on your roof than the people who take care of it the rest of the year?

Here's how it works, start to finish, so you know your next step.

What Does G3 Christmas Light Installation Include?

One crew handles the whole season for you:

  • Custom roofline design. We measure and fit lights to your home's peaks, gables and eaves, so the lines are clean and nothing sags or hangs past the corner.
  • Commercial-grade C9 LEDs. Bright, consistent bulbs in warm white, color or patterns like candy cane. Ask the team about what's available this season.
  • A safe, professional install. Our crew handles the heights and the tricky rooflines so you stay on the ground.
  • Takedown and storage. After the season we take the lights down and pack them into a storage bin that stays at your home.

You can also light more than the roof. Rooflines, trees, beds and walkways are all options when you build your estimate.

How Do I Get a Lights Estimate?

We built an online estimator so you can get started in a few minutes, and it's easiest on your phone. There are four steps:

  1. Tell us about you. Your contact info and address, so we can plan around your home.
  2. Pick your areas. Rooflines, trees, beds or walkways, and a little about the look you want.
  3. Draw your design. Mark where you want the lights right on a photo of your house. If you'll notice, it's a lot easier to show us than to describe it.
  4. Finalize. Review your order, and we confirm everything with you before install day.

If you'd rather talk it through, call us. Some folks know exactly what they want. Others just know they want the house to look nice when the family pulls up. Both are fine. We'll help you understand your options.

What Happens Before Install Day?

Before anybody climbs a ladder, we confirm the design, the areas and your install date with you. No surprises. If we're reusing lights from a past season, put the bin out on the porch the day before so the crew can grab it and get to work.

A few things that help on your end:

  • Let us know about gate codes, dogs in the backyard or anything else the crew should know.
  • Tell us where your outdoor outlets are, and whether any of them trip.
  • If you have an HOA, check its holiday guidelines before we finalize. Our guide to HOA holiday lighting rules covers what to look for.

Who Actually Installs My Lights?

Our own crew, Licensed & Insured. Electrical work is handled by our licensed electrical partner. That matters more than people think. When you hire somebody to work on your roof, you want to know they're covered if something goes wrong, and you want them to treat your roof like it's theirs.

We're roofers first, so we don't punch holes in your shingles or crack your tile to hang a strand of lights. The difference is in the details: clean runs, hidden wires, straight lines and a roof that's in the same shape in January as it was in November.

Why Hire It Out Instead of Doing It Yourself?

We made a short called "Your Christmas Lights Shouldn't Require a Trip to the ER," and honestly, that's most of the argument. Ladders, roof pitch and a cold December morning are a bad mix. Every year somebody's dad ends up on the ground instead of on the couch.

Beyond safety, there's time. Hanging lights well takes a full weekend, maybe two, and then you get to do it all again in reverse after New Year's. We'd rather you spend that time with your family. That's what the season is about.

Can I See Your Work First?

Absolutely. Watch the video above, "Red, White and Green: A Challenging Install," and check out the rest on our lighting page. You'll see technical roofs, a candy cane pattern on a cement tile roof and classic warm white. You can also read what customers say about the G3 team on our reviews page. Most folks book Christmas light installation early, before the calendar fills up.
