WatchRemodeling a Home From Top to BottomBathrooms are small rooms with a lot going on. Plumbing, electrical, ventilation, tile, glass, cabinets, fixtures and waterproofing, all in a few square feet. That's why bathroom remodels are so satisfying when they're done right, and so frustrating when they're not.
G3 Construction remodels bathrooms across North Texas, from Argyle and Flower Mound to Highland Village, Southlake and Keller. Here's what to expect.
What Kind of Bathroom Remodel Do You Want?
Most bathroom remodels fall into a few buckets:
- Refresh. New vanity, counters, fixtures, lighting, mirror and paint in the same layout.
- Full remodel. Everything out to the studs: new shower or tub, tile, plumbing fixtures, flooring, vanity and lighting.
- Layout change. Moving the shower, swapping a tub for a walk-in shower, enlarging the room or reworking a master suite.
- Accessibility. Walk-in showers, grab bars, comfort-height toilets and wider doorways. See our aging-in-place guide.
Why Does Waterproofing Matter So Much?
This is the part you never see and the part that matters most. We're a restoration company. We see what happens when showers aren't waterproofed right: rotted subfloors, moldy walls, stained ceilings below and tile that cracks and pops loose.
A good bathroom remodel includes:
- The right backer board and waterproofing system behind the tile
- Properly sloped shower pans
- Sealed niches, benches and corners
- A properly vented exhaust fan, to the outside, not into the attic
- Correct plumbing connections, tested before the walls close
If you're comparing estimates, ask everybody how they waterproof the shower. If they can't explain it, keep looking.
What Selections Will I Need to Make?
- Tub, shower or both
- Tile for floors, walls and shower
- Grout color
- Shower glass
- Vanity, countertop and sinks
- Faucets, shower valve and showerhead
- Toilet
- Mirrors and lighting
- Exhaust fan
- Hardware, towel bars and accessories
- Paint
Make them early. Tile and glass in particular can have lead times, and the crew can't install what hasn't been picked.

What If We Find Damage Behind the Walls?
In older bathrooms, it happens a lot. Slow leaks from showers, toilets and supply lines can rot subfloors and framing without anyone knowing. If we find water damage or mold, we'll show you, explain it and talk through options. CMDR Restoration (TDLR RCO #1801), our mitigation partner, can handle mold remediation and drying when needed.
Can I Use My Bathroom During the Remodel?
Usually not the one being remodeled. If it's your only bathroom, talk to us about planning and phasing. If you have another, plan to share it for a while.
Why Choose G3 for a Bathroom Remodel?
- Written scope before work begins. You'll know exactly what's included.
- Restoration experience. We know what water does, and we build to keep it where it belongs.
- Communication. Clear communication makes every renovation better.
- Relationships. Construction shouldn't feel transactional.
- 1-year workmanship warranty.
