About Us

Be Grateful. Be Generous. Be Good.

We launched G3 Construction due to our desire to raise the bar in workmanship, support, and trust in the restoration profession. We are constantly brainstorming on how we can provide more value for each of our client partners.

Be Grateful

As part of our guiding principle to be grateful, we are always looking for opportunities to pay it forward. From local charity and organization sponsorships, to organizations who serve those with disabilities and who provide assistance in natural disasters, we commit to contributing at least 10% of our earnings to pay it forward to our communities.

Be Generous

We have designed marketing and maintenance plans specifically to add value and take care of each of our client’s needs.

Our marketing plan pays you for your efforts in promoting our business. We don’t pay for Google clicks, mailers, or door knockers, we pay you. What makes it even easier is that we are confident that you would recommend us regardless of the marketing plan due to our transparency, education, quality of work, and generosity. We thank you in advance for your support.

Most roofers in DFW are more than happy to knock on your door or reach out after a storm event, but then they disappear only to reappear when that next storm hits. For every roofing system we replace, we provide complimentary annual maintenance where we have both marketing and maintenance plans in place. We look forward to seeing you each year and keeping our relationships fresh.

For our water losses, we have prepared educational documents and support you as the homeowner every step of the way. Given the risk for additional damage from mold if not treated properly, we work with our team of engineers and mitigation professionals to document everything for a smoother claims handling process.

Be Good

We take pride in our work and provide the best warranties in the business. Our goal is to earn your trust so that we become the ones you call and refer when an unexpected event happens.

We also go above and beyond to educate ourselves continually whether via industry certifications or applicable licenses. We are always learning and becoming better. We appreciate when you partner with us and provide feedback regarding the solution(s). In construction, as much as most anything, it takes a village. When we all work together, the end product is much better and we all feel much more accomplished.

We look forward to building a lifetime relationship with you. Thank you in advance for trusting us as your reconstruction partners!

Matt "Vinnie" Alva

Owner

G3 Knows was born out of turning lemons into lemonade… and maybe adding a little jalapeño for extra kick.

Matt holds a joint Master’s Degree in Business and Healthcare Administration and spent over 15 years as a hospital and healthcare executive— suit, tie, meetings, the whole deal.

Then came COVID. Suddenly unemployed and armed with way too much energy, Matt channeled his inner renaissance man—baking homemade bread, making jam for neighbors, and fixing anything with a motor, hinge, or loose screw.

One thing led to another (as it usually does with Matt), and G3 was born. Today, he leads a team just as passionate about relationships, growth, and community as he is. G3 isn’t just a business—it’s a mission to support, teach, and serve.

When he’s not steering the G3 ship or adding more acronyms to his title, Matt’s usually chasing adventure—whether that’s traveling with his family, tackling Ironman triathlons, or racing through the desert (and yes, he’s still faster than JD). He loves seeing his team crush their goals—financially, personally, and as families… though he’s still working on loving the paperwork part

JD Swenson - G3 Knows COO

JD "Coach" Swenson

Chief Executive Officer

Part operations wizard, part adventure junkie, JD Swenson brings 14+ years of experience in construction and real estate development to G3 Roofing & Construction—and he's just getting warmed up.

Before joining G3, JD served as Senior VP at one of the nation’s largest debt funds, overseeing multifamily and hospitality projects like a boss (because he was one). His career kicked off in construction finance with none other than Goldman Sachs and Fortress Investment Group, so yeah, he knows a thing or two about managing big-time projects and even bigger spreadsheets.

JD’s secret weapon? A rare combo of operational discipline and people-first leadership—meaning he can optimize a construction timeline and remember your kid’s name. He’s known for streamlining chaos into clean systems and building relationships that last longer than your average roof warranty.

When he’s not running the show at G3, JD is a full-time family man with three amazing kids, a wife who somehow still laughs at his dad jokes, and a side hustle as a Baja racing team driver (yes, seriously). Add in some rugged backpacking adventures and active church leadership, and you've got a guy who doesn’t just lead—he lives full throttle.

Profile 1

Jason "The Prodigy" Cook

Executive Director of Operation & Project Manager

Jason Cook keeps G3 running like a well-oiled machine – or maybe a finely tuned guitar. With over 11 years of experience in catastrophic loss resolution, Jason has been the go-to-guy when things go sideways.

He specializes in complex water and fire damage projects, working hand-in-hand with clients and insurance providers to make sure every repair is done right – and with integrity (because shortcuts aren't his style).

These days, Jason focuses on the reconstruction side of the industry, where his attention to detail, insurance expertise, and calm-under-pressure approach help homeowners and businesses rebuild stronger than before

Outside of work, Jason's a man of many talents. He's been known to pick up a mic or guitar (or any of the eight instruments he somehow plays) for a spontaneous jam session at local clubs.

When he's not rocking out, he's giving back – serving as President of the Reed Elementary PTA and Vice President of the Allen ISD Council of PTAs, where he champions kids, community, and creativity.

If there's music, a project to tackle, or a cause worth supporting – Jason's already there. Probably with a tool in one hand and a guitar pick in the other.

Nick "MitSteamy" Dennett

CMDR Restoration Manager

Nick Dennett brings over a decade of elite experience to the restoration world — 12 years as a U.S. Army Special Operations veteran and now a licensed Public Adjuster in multiple states. He’s the kind of guy who can lead a mission, fix a flood, and still look camera-ready doing it.

Known locally as “MitSteamy”, Nick runs CMDR Restoration, where professionalism, precision, and accountability are standard issue. His military background instilled the discipline, integrity, and no-excuses attitude that define his work today. Whether it’s water damage, mold mitigation, or structural drying, Nick’s the guy who makes sure the job gets done — and done right.

In his so-called “spare time,” he’s still learning, training, and pressing the envelope through advanced industry courses — because apparently, rest isn’t part of his vocabulary.
When he’s not on a mission for G3 or CMDR, Nick’s all about family. His wife (a Dental Hygienist with the patience of a saint) and their creative young son — who’s already set on becoming a dragon when he grows up — keep him grounded and laughing.

Disciplined, dedicated, and maybe just a little too good at everything he tries, Nick lives by the same values he served with: integrity, growth, and service — with a touch of steam.

"I CAN'T PRAISE G3 ROOFING & CONSTRUCTION ENOUGH!
After a storm caused the aluminum trim on my house's siding to completely detach, I reached out to several roofing companies for quotes to replace it.

G3 was the only company that came out, inspected the damage, and provided me with a reasonable quote. Their team was courteous and consistently responsive to my inquiries and concerns. They truly went above and beyond, and I am incredibly grateful for their exceptional service."
